The Physical Security Engineer supports the deployment, maintenance, and expansion of
physical security systems across multiple datacenter facilities.
This role combines hands-on field engineering with technical system support and operational
security responsibilities. Reporting to the Physical Security leadership team within the CISO
organization, the engineer will assist with implementation, troubleshooting, commissioning, and
maintenance of enterprise physical security infrastructure including access control systems,
CCTV platforms, low-voltage systems, and security monitoring technologies.
The ideal candidate is technically capable, adaptable, willing to travel, and interested in
developing expertise in datacenter physical security operations and infrastructure.
1. Physical Security Systems Engineering
● Assist with installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of:
○ Access control systems
○ CCTV and video management systems
○ Door hardware and locking systems
○ Low-voltage cabling and infrastructure
○ Alarm and monitoring systems
● Support deployment and maintenance of enterprise physical security platforms including:
○ Axis Camera Station Pro
○ Axis door controllers
○ HID credential and reader systems
○ Video surveillance infrastructure
● Respond to troubleshooting requests involving:
○ Reader issues
○ Controller connectivity
○ Camera outages
○ Door alarms
○ Basic network and power issues
2. Technical Field Engineering
● Assist with:
○ Door configuration and access policies
○ Camera positioning and coverage planning
○ Security documentation and standards
○ RFQ and project implementation processes
○ Physical security best practices within data center environments
● Support inventory management, equipment staging, and lab testing
● Assist with low-voltage cable pulls, device mounting, labeling, and hardware
commissioning
● Maintain professionalism while working in active production data center environments
3. Datacenter Deployment & Travel
● Travel to datacenter facilities to assist with:
○ New site deployments
○ Security upgrades
○ Hardware replacements
○ Commissioning and validation
○ Vendor coordination
● Support physical security expansion efforts across multiple facilities and construction
projects
● Assist senior engineering staff with documenting installations and validating completed
work against company standards
4. Rotating 24/7 On-Call Responsibility – Security System
Emergencies
This role participates in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule to support urgent physical security
system issues outside of normal business hours. On-call responsibilities include responding to
security system emergencies involving access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection,
intercoms, door hardware integrations, and other critical security infrastructure.
The on-call engineer is expected to triage incidents, provide remote troubleshooting when
possible, coordinate with internal teams and vendors, escalate critical failures, and support
restoration of security system functionality in a timely manner. Examples of on-call events may
include access control outages, door controller failures, camera system outages affecting critical
areas, security server or recording failures, life-safety/security-impacting door issues, or other
incidents that could affect site security, compliance, or business continuity.
Participation in the on-call rotation requires reliable availability during assigned on-call periods,
timely acknowledgement of alerts or calls, and clear documentation of actions taken,
escalations, and resolution status. On-site response may be required when remote remediation
is not sufficient or when the incident presents an immediate operational or security risk.
Preferred Experience

● Experience with any of the following is a plus:
○ Axis systems
○ Access control platforms
○ CCTV systems
○ Data Center environments
○ Construction or field installation work
○ IT or infrastructure support
