Job Summary

The sales manager is responsible for leading and managing the sales team to achieve and exceed the company's sales targets and objectives. This position works closely with the marketing and operations teams to develop and implement sales strategies and plans that align with the company's mission and goals. Therefore, this role demands a leader with analytical skills, an ability to coach, train, develop or replace sales designers while building and maintaining a high-performance team capable of driving both direct-to-customer sales and partner sales initiatives.

Primary duties include hiring, developing sales design talent, and training them on various techniques and strategies to reach set KPIs for B2C and partner sales.

The Sales Manager must have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the market and a deep knowledge of competitive products. They must also be excellent and professional communicators with superior customer service skills who can quickly navigate internal and external issues to reach desired goals.

Ultimately, as a leader in the company, the sales manager must work with all of the leaders across our company to ensure Inspired Closets DFW hits our revenue and profit goals.

Regular office hours at the designated showroom location and local travel are required

Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of sales and design representatives

  • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans that align with the company's mission and goals

  • Manage the sales process, from lead generation to closing deals, to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve sales targets

  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement

  • Collaborate with marketing and operations to develop and execute sales campaigns and promotions

  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners, both internally and externally

  • Monitor and report on sales team performance and provide feedback and coaching to improve performance

  • Manage and maintain sales operations

  • Outline and manage sales budgets

  • Set monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals to reach company performance goals

  • Train, motivate, and manage the sales teams to achieve their goals

  • Monitor the market and competitor products and activities

  • Provide detailed sales forecasting to senior leadership

  • Review customer activity, anticipate consumer needs, and improve customer satisfaction

  • Ensure company sales goals are met or exceeded, including achieving all key business metrics while following the Inspired Closets policies and procedures

  • Ensure the Sales Design team is delivering on the Inspired Closets standards of excellence with each and every customer

  • Regular and effective collaboration with operations team to ensure high standard of customer service at all touchpoints

  • Support executive leadership team by leading regular sales meetings and providing regular formal and informal updates to executive leadership

  • Monitor performance metrics to lead the sales team to reach and exceed sales targets

  • Hire, onboard, train, and develop top sales talent based on budget and market demand

  • Coach and mentor Sales Design Consultants ensuring all company revenue goals and key performance indicators are met or exceeded through monthly goal setting and target review meetings

  • Ensure direct reports are delivering on an exceptional customer experience with every customer touch point and follow up on completed procedures per company policy

  • Manage underperformers following performance management guidelines to improve results, including detailed documentation developed in concert with executive leadership

  • Collaborate with other managers to ensure all mandatory training is completed as per training strategy for new and ongoing training and development, including classroom, showroom, design, field, and general sales training

  • Work with Sales Design Consultants to create and update their Personal Marketing Plan and/or a plan for self -generated leads and share plans quarterly with executive leadership

  • Ensure all work from the sales department is guided by company policies and strategies

  • Establish annual objectives with help and guidance from executive leadership

Requirements
  • 5+ years experience in a sales management capacity
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing a successful sales team
  • Proven history consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Creative problem solver and analytical thinker
  • Strong competitive sales drive, adaptability, and perseverance
  • Expert listening skills and problem-solving attitude to uncover needs and motivations to overcome objections in order to close a sale
  • Results driven and customer focused with a positive, achievement-oriented attitude
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with attention to detail and follow-up
