Job Summary

The Grammar School Teacher is a full-time position with responsibilities for teaching.

The ideal candidate will bring a history of collaborative, self-directed work as well as experience teaching in a classical Christian school. The ideal candidate deeply understands and appreciates the benefits of a classical Christian education, particularly one taught through a Biblical worldview.

Responsibilities

Grammar school teachers are responsible for fostering a Christ-centered learning environment marked by spiritual leadership, academic excellence, and effective classroom management. Teachers are expected to model Christian character, integrate biblical principles throughout instruction, and actively participate in school activities and assemblies. Responsibilities include maintaining an organized, engaging, and disciplined classroom while establishing clear routines that encourage student responsibility and self-discipline.

Teachers must demonstrate strong subject knowledge across core grammar school disciplines and deliver instruction in alignment with the school’s curriculum guide. Effective teaching methods should include questioning, recitation, demonstrations, comprehension checks, and interactive learning strategies that support student engagement and academic growth.

Additional responsibilities include monitoring student progress through varied assessment methods, communicating regularly with parents, and preparing detailed weekly and quarterly lesson plans. Teachers are also expected to cultivate positive relationships with families and contribute to the overall mission, culture, and spiritual development of the school community. The Grammar school teacher will develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that promote active learning within a Classical Christian framework grounded in Biblical principles. Maintain accurate student records, assess academic progress regularly, and demonstrate strong instructional skill, professionalism, emotional stability, and collaboration with administration while applying effective teaching methodologies to support student growth and curriculum objectives.

Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in a classical Christian school desirable.

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in content area preferred.

  • Ability to demonstrate growth mindset, optimism, and belief that all students are created in the image of God, and they can learn.

  • Ability to innovate and think creatively about education.

  • Ability to use and adapt to a wide array of technological tools to support and deepen student learning and instruction.

  • Ability to work as part of a team with collegiality and humility.

  • Dedication to personal and professional growth, especially in classical education methodologies.

Requirements
